Held the 3rd weekend of October each year, the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race is Mississippi's most exciting hot air balloon race! Two balloon flights take place on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, and one flight takes place on Friday morning carrying media and cyclists for promotional purposes and a two-part competition to start the weekend off. Pilots compete as they fly over the cities of Natchez, Vidalia and the mighty Mississippi River.
Our balloon festival weekend officially starts with the Balloon Glow Friday night, and continues through Sunday evening with a live performances by celebrated regional musicians. The festival itself takes place on the grounds of Rosalie Bicentennial Gardens, at the corner of Broadway and Orleans in historic downtown Natchez.
Sorry, no pets, ice chests, or tents are permitted on festival grounds, and for your safety, all bags will be checked by security personnel upon entry.
