Each year, the Natchez City Cemetery stages an elaborate presentation featuring selected gravesites throughout the property. This production presents local citizens and/or family descendants, who portray individuals buried here.
Guides direct groups from grave to grave where local actors, dressed in period costumes, tell stories about the lives, and/or deaths of various people buried here. During this entertaining tour, local actors and family descendants give commentaries while dressed in period costumes. Several are accompanied with musical tributes.
Tours begin every 15 minutes and each group is limited to 50 people. Due to the lack of parking at the cemetery, free shuttle transportation is provided from the Natchez Visitor Center to the cemetery and everyone must board at the time designated on the ticket purchased.
Tickets can be purchased at the Natchez Visitors Center starting August 1, 2013.
